Some Halloween costume ideas from the 1920’s/30’s/40’s.
There are Witches, Devils, Bats, Spiders and costumes with Halloween colours, so plenty of inspiration.
Some of these would have been made with crepe paper which can be sewn.
Have Fun.

Other Ideas
We tend to think fancy dress is fairly new yet people have been disguising themselves for hundreds if not thousands of years for various reasons, including just to have fun.
The Victorians and Edwardians were no exception.
Some I’ve come across would make interesting Halloween costumes.
I only wish I had the dressmaking skills to try and make some of these.

The Victorians and Edwardians certainly liked costume parties.
I’ve come across some interesting themes, but will stick to those with Astronomical elements.
Some appear to represent The Night. These are from the late 19th early 20th century.
They seem to be dresses with Stars/Moons, appliqued or sewn on. One looks like the design has been painted on.
A few ideas to try maybe.

Whilst perusing the internet over the last year, I’ve come across a lot of interesting costume ideas.
I love wearing costumes myself and have put together a few steampunk themed outfits over the years. So I thought I’d put a few ideas down on my blog.
